Becoming A City of God: BUILDING UPDATE MARCH 2026

Dear Northlake Family,

Wow! First and foremost, I want to thank God for His hand in this church expansion. So much progress has been made in the last few months. If you were able to come out to the church dedication in early February, we had not even begun to drywall.

Almost everything inside the building has been framed and drywalled. All of the hard lid ceilings have been framed. After some miscellaneous inspections, we will cover those ceilings as well. The rooms with T-bar ceilings should be installed next week. A crew has been working vigorously on tape and float, and some walls have even been primed. All work above the ceilings is complete, including fire sprinklers and alarms, condensate lines, ductwork, electrical, and plumbing. Tile and finish paint work will begin over the next few weeks. The wood-look ceiling in the Lobby has also been completed. Our audio/visual team has also started pulling cables throughout the building.

On the exterior, you can see that most of the glass has been installed. The crew is continuing to work on the storefront area. The grey concrete panels have been installed in the Meeting Rooms and the Cafe/Lounge. The soffit panels are almost complete at the roof overhangs. The black metal panels have arrived, and installation will begin next week. The TPO roof has also been installed. Rooftop HVAC units should arrive next week, and a crane (construction workers love crane days) will be here to set them in place.

The work on the site is moving along quickly. A 55,000-gallon tank was installed in case of fire. The septic system should be finished by early next week, and then final grading can be completed. That means grass or mulch will be spread shortly after. Our retention ponds are done, and the grass at the bottom looks great. The new asphalt parking lot is finished, and it will be striped towards the end of the project. Permanent power is in place (this is great news), and the light poles have been installed. The new Northlake marquee sign has been built near the entrance to the new parking lot. Lastly, construction on the outdoor walkway connecting the two buildings together should start in the next 3-4 weeks.

There is so much going on here; I am sorry, I just keep rattling on, but all this is so exciting! Please continue to pray for the safety and professionalism of all employees. Thanks to Structura and their entire team. I am so looking forward to seeing this expansion come together over the next few months.
